I create mosaics using hand-cut pieces of stained glass. Each fragment is carefully arranged, piece by piece, to form a representational image. The aesthetic of mosaics, to me, reflects the cycle of life itself. We all bear the marks of our individual journeys, fragmented and broken, as we strive to reassemble the scattered pieces and make sense of our existence. Glass, with its rigidity and fragility, serves as a powerful metaphor in this process.

The paradox of glass lies in its exquisite beauty and its potential to inflict harm, capable of cutting through skin with its sharp edges. I approach mosaics as personal puzzles, crafted for my own contemplation. When developing my patterns, I am naturally drawn to creatures that exhibit inherent mosaic-like qualities, such as the intricate feathers of birds, the delicate cells on butterfly wings, the mesmerizing scales of fish, and the intricate veins on leaves. Through these patterns, I strive to convey the infinite vibrations of life's messages that I encounter.

Symbolism, rooted in nature, forms the language through which I narrate my autobiographical story of these experiences. Each piece I create involves a constant decision-making process, as I navigate the unique qualities and limitations of glass. Nothing is certain in this exploration, but it is within these uncertainties that I find joy in the ever-evolving discovery of crafting each distinctive artwork.

Through my mosaics, I aim to inspire viewers to contemplate their own fragmented narratives and appreciate the beauty that arises from the process of piecing together life's intricate puzzle. I invite you to embark on this artistic journey with me, as we delve into the complexities of existence and find solace in the fragile yet resilient nature of the mosaic art form.
